Julia Fitzgerald is a mother of two and a card carrying member of the I-Am-The-Boss-Not-Them! Club.  She has been passed over for the mother of the year award on a consistent basis, but she maintains that “Because Mama Says So!” really is an acceptable answer to any question.

 Julia is also a  marketing executive specializing in consumer marketing strategies targeted to Moms and Kids.   Her forte is turn-around efforts and leading new product development and brand launches.  Julia is currently CMO of Sylvan Learning where she is dedicated to their mission of inspiring kids to succeed and thrive through personal learning. 

Formerly CMO for Toys and Sporting Goods and Fitness at Sears Holding Company,  Julia led the efforts to optimize Kmart’s Toys business and grow Sears Fitness business online and in stores.   She also served as SVP of Marketing at VTech Electronic Learning Toys, so she is well versed in early childhood learning as well as the toy industry at large.   Julia launched  V.Smile, the first  educational video game,  and won the 2005 Toy of The Year award.   The Toy Industry voted Fitzgerald 2008’s Wonder Woman of Toys for her contribution to educational toys and the industry.  Julia seved on the Toy Industry Association board through 2012,  and was recognized as top 50 women in Brand Marketing in 2013.

Prior to joining Sears Holdings and VTech, Julia held progressive marketing positions at Hedstrom, Mead School and Office Products, Hallmark Cards, and Race For The Cure. She is also a frequent speaker on Toys, Mom Marketing and Licensing at various industry symposiums and corporate venues.
